This is a unique route that visits several islands, each of which is a different example of the rugged beauty that is hidden in the Sea of Cortez and that is fascinating to discover in a kayak. Among the most important attractions of this trip are the remote beaches, the incredible opportunities for snorkeling, kayaking in mangrove channels, dolphin and bird watching, the fishing community that inhabits a small island called 'El Pardito' and the landscapes untamed of the region.
On this trip, we will visit the fishing community that inhabits a small island called "El Pardito," where we will have the opportunity to learn about the artisanal fishing culture of Baja California Sur.

About the destination
San José
Archipelago
The San José Archipelago, located in the Gulf of California in Baja California Sur, is a natural treasure for sea kayaking enthusiasts. This group of islands and rock formations, surrounded by crystal-clear waters, offers a unique experience of adventure and connection with nature.
Its isolation and untouched landscapes make it an ideal destination for those looking to explore remote and wild places. San Francisco Island is the first island of the archipelago which has hikes with unique panoramic views. El pardito is a tiny island with up to 50 inhabitants who live off the sea and from visitors who buy products such as fish or crafts. San José Island is the crown of the archipelago, whose white sand beaches and channels among the mangroves make you forget that you are in the desert.
During the journey, it's common to spot playful dolphins, sea turtles, and a variety of tropical fish swimming beneath the kayak. Along its shores, seabirds like cormorants and frigatebirds put on a unique visual display, while in the mangrove channels, herons showcase their elegance as they fly and hunt.
